Alien Life by 2025

For the longest time we (people of Earth) have been searching the vast, never ending galaxy for other life forms that may be just like us or not the same at all. Recently NASA has released predictions about these "aliens" that we will soon not just discover, but have proof that they exist. NASa says that they have been making a lot of process in exploring the universe and will most likely "have definite evidence within 20 to 30 years" (Leopold). The discovery of water on one of Jupiter's moons and on a dwarf planet NASA has discovered is a step closer to discovering life elsewhere in the universe. Although the life that may be first discovered will be small microorganisms that are too small for us to see. The farther and more in-depth we begin to explore beyond our solar system the greater the chances we have to discover life.

I have also been really fascinated by space and the thought that we might not be the only life to exist in our universe. For the longest time we have been restricted by our lack of technology and understanding to go exploring father then a planet or 2 away but as we improve our technology we are able to open up our understanding and explore even further. I am certain that there will be life beyond what we know now, it is just the question of how developed that life is. Such as in the article it says there will be microorganisms but will there be creatures of our capability or even greater? I hope I am still alive to see the day when we discover life on another planet, although even thought that sounds exciting it also sounds terrifying at the same time. This can all be summed up in one of my favorite quotes by Arthur C. Clarke: "Either we are alone in this universe or we are not; both are equally terrifying."

  1. It is crazy how far technology has taken us. The odds of life on another planet or universe are very possible and it also scares me.
